There are many fluctuations in a woman’s body when she is pregnant. Not only does she get stretch marks, suffer from morning sickness, and have mood swings, but she may also develop acne. This can lead a woman to feeling ugly, not wanted, and less like herself. Many women simply want to be acne free in 3 days. If she gained weight, this may be true.

During pregnancy, a woman’s hormonal level will change drastically as the baby is growing insider her womb. These changes can cause acne. Handling the issue through the service of a doctor or dermatologist would be the normal way to conduct business. This may be an oral or topical treatment. When a women is with child, physicians discourage the use of medicine.

Cold and flu medications are discouraged as well. Coping with this issue is a lot harder for pregnant women.Therefore, a lot of women will wait until their baby is born before they fix their acne issue.An OB/GYN should be the first person they seek advice from, especially for this issue.

The first 3 months of pregnancy is the worst for women and acne. It is during this time that hormone levels really fluctuate and are changing. This will build up to an acne problem because more oil is coming thru the pores of the body.

Once the pregnancy reaches the second trimester, the woman will notice her acne clearing up a lot. Treating acne is best left until the start of the second trimester in pregnant women. If a woman is still worried, she should speak to an OB/GYN right away.

Dealing with acne is no fun at all. When we have it, we typically do not feel our best. Things may become worse for a pregnant woman. Not only can a woman’s mood change during pregnancy, but she may even develop acne. A solution for the acne should be put on hold until the second trimester of the pregnancy is over with.
